The Winners Have Been Chosen!
The De Luca Foundation is excited to announce that after a highly competitive application process for the 2026 Joseph Hamill Access to Science Award, the top 10 candidates have been selected! In partnership with the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM), we are proud to support student travel to international conferences. This year, 10 winners will each receive $2,000 to attend the ACSM conference in Salt Lake City, Utah, beginning May 26th, 2026.

In terms of helping biomechanics in international conferences, it's almost like the old saying, "the more the merrier". It gives you a diverse outlook on biomechanics and tells you what other people are thinking. My interests have become widened by talking to people from different countries. I expect students going to international conferences will have the same effect, possibly a much greater effect, in that they will get a broader perspective of what biomechanics is.
