De Luca Foundation Announces Dr. Rajinikumar Palaniyappan as New Advisor

The De Luca Foundation is excited to welcome Dr. Rajinikumar Palaniyappan to our Board of Advisors!

Dr. Rajinikumar is an Associate Professor and the Head of the Department of Biomechanics and Kinesiology at Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University (TNPESU).

During his current professorship at TNPESU, Dr. Rajinikumar established the Centre of Excellence in Sports Biomechanics, which is recognized as the largest sports biomechanics lab in South Asia. This lab features motion capture technology, force plates, EMG, dynamometers, and more, allowing Dr. Rajinikumar to expand the scope of his research and contribute significantly to the field of sports science. With over 20 years of experience in academia and numerous national and international publications, Dr. Rajinikumar’s research pedigree makes him a great fit for the De Luca Foundation.

As part of his advisership, Dr. Rajinikumar will have several important responsibilities with the goal of increasing the Foundation’s reach in India. He will help promote sports science education by leading skill-development scientific workshops in India and by conducting innovative research projects aimed at improving the understanding of human performance. He will also help in the formal review process for Foundation programs, including Seed for Science and the Integrative Motion Award.
